Fight Like a Girl is for anyone who has ever asked, what can I do? Fight Like a Girl details the issues facing women and girls today, addresses the relevance of feminism today, and serves as a call to action to any who want to make a difference.
Written and performed by Amy Dixon-Kolar (c) 2008 Asharta Music/ASCAP. This was written a few days after November 4, 2008 and was inspired by the quote used as the chorus and the celebrations and photos of this historic day
I read your article today in Skirt and I love it and love you for doing, as a mentor of a couple of young women, we absolutely have to teach these young women how to own themselves...what saved me as a young, curvy teenager growing up in the seventies was my ability not to buy into the concept of overhyped sexuality...I knew what worked for me and what was good to me and for and I fought always for that, for me and for other young people...my mentees will tell you that my message is self-love, self-respect and say no, hell no, to anything that does not work for you!
