I had the thrill and honor to engage in an intergenerational dialogue with Bettina Aptheker at the Capitola Book Cafe. Bettina is a professor at UC Santa Cruz and a long time activist. She is a phenomenal woman! She recounts her life in her new memoir, Intimate Politics, which I highly recommend.
Earlier the same day I had the opportunity to speak in Bettina's Intro to Fem class at UCSC. I walked into the very same lecture hall that my mom used to take me to when I was fourteen. My mom was with me this day, as was my 4 month old daughter. Talk about a full circle moment!
Anyhow...pick up a copy of Bettina's new book--it will prove to be an inspirational read!
